Description
The B-Complex
B-complexes are vitamins with similar molecular structures. They are often referred to as “the Bs”, these include; thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic acid, biotin, pyridoxine, folic acid, inositol, and vitamin B12. B vitamins are water-soluble. Any excessive amounts in the body are eliminated through urination. When consumed in foods, the B’s are always found together, and in a certain ratio. This is important because the B’s do not operate in a vacuum. Some are co-enzymes for other B’s. In essence, their utility is completely nullified if not taken as a whole. Emotional unrest, fatigue, irritability, stress and depression can often be a sign of a B vitamin deficiency. Our brains are chemically based after all and any disruption in proper operation can be felt in a difference in mood or a lack of concentration. The B’s are used by your body in everything from the production of neurotransmitters that regulate moods to the metabolism of carbohydrates as a source of energy for our brains. Specifically, the Bs are responsible for the health and maintenance of nerves, eyes, digestion and skin, as well as the processing of carbohydrates, fat and protein, growth, the production of hormones and digestive enzymes, prevention of anemia, maintenance of the sex glands, sebaceous glands and bone marrow. Balanced for assimilation Vitazan Professional B-complex includes the entire B-complex, with each vitamin in its most natural, easily absorbed form. The Vitazan Professional complex of vitamins consists of B1 (thiamine HCL), B2 (riboflavin 5-phosphate and riboflavin HCL), B3 flush free (inositol hexanicotinate) and Niacinamide, B5 (D-pantothenic acid, calcium), B6 (pyridoxal 5-phosphate and pyridoxine HCL) and, B7 (biotin), B12 (methylcobalamine), and folic acid. A key emphasis is placed on enzyme forms of b-vitamins for easy and quid assimilation. Our coenzyme forms of b-vitamins allow for immediate assimilation without the need to be processed by the liver. We’ve also made sure that adequate amounts of b-vitamins are present for maximum utility For example, our formulation includes 3 times the amount of vitamin B12 than comparable formulas to aid in stress relief, process carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, as well as to maintain the nervous system and make an adequate amount of new red blood cells. B12 cannot be obtained from non animal sources and supplementation may be needed for vegetarians. Vitazan special B-complex with vitamin C includes vitamin C as well, so as a whole to aid the body’s need for adrenal support during times of stress.
Action
Vitazan Professional Special B-complex includes;
- B1 (thiamine HCL) – B1’s usefulness is many fold. It is used to release energy from carbohydrates, an energy source for your brain. Also, it assists proper functioning of the nervous system, stomach pH and appetite.
- B2 (riboflavin) – B2 like B1 affects your proper processing of carbohydrates into energy. It does this as well for proteins. B2 is utilized by your body in order to maximize the use of oxygen and maintain healthy skin, eyes and the production of red blood cells. Our riboflavin is under an enzymatic form; riboflavin 5-phosphate. As such people with enzyme deficiencies need not worry about full assimilation. The enzymatic or activated form of riboflavin is quickly hydrolyzed to yield riboflavin after ingestion. What’s more riboflavin and riboflavin 5-phosphate are in metabolic equilibrium after absorption.
- Riboflavin 5-phosphate is the prosthetic group of flavoproteins involved in general cell metabolism as hydrogen acceptors.
- B3 (niacin, inositol) – Once more B3 is also used by your body to maximize energy utilization from nutrients. Like B2, B3 is a factor in normal brain operations and body functions linked to the maintenance of healthy skin, digestion and circulation of blood.
- B5 (Pantothenic acid) – Like its brethren B5 also effects energy utilization and proper brain function. In addition to this B5 supports the production of adrenal hormones which are needed in times of stress. It should be noted that B5, as most of the b-vitamins, is not limited to these roles, but is in fact used in a variety of purposes throughout your body, these range from proper growth to the support of enzymatic reactions.
- B6 (pyridoxine) – B6 fulfills many of the roles that the other b-vitamins support. The key to remember is that these complexes operate together to produce their desired result. As such, B6 also assists proper brain functions and energy utilization, as well as several other physiological functions. Our B6 exists under the form of Pyridoxal 5-phosphate (P-5-P). This is an activated co-enzyme form of vitamin B6. Most B complex formulas contain only the inactive pyridoxine HCL form.
- B12 (methycobalamin)- B12 has often been used to prevent anemia, defeciences can lead to insufficient red blood cell production. Folic acid regulates red blood cell production and B12 supports use of folic acid. B12 also assists proper utilization of iron, a key component of blood and the synthesis of DNA. This B-vitamin also plays a supporting role in the proper operations of cognitive functions through its effect on nerve cells. The B12 we naturally obtain is either obtained from animal sources or through bacteria residing in our intestines.
- Folic Acid: Typically, folic acid is found in green leafy vegetables, insufficient consumption of these can lead to deficiencies. The effect of these can be significant, such as an increased risk of arteriosclerosis. Also, folic acid works with vitamin B12 and vitamin C to produce red blood cells, as such deficiencies can lead to anemia. Folic acid is used in the formation of nucleic acid, a component of DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid) and several key physiological functions. It is especially important for pregnant women to obtain a sufficient amount of folic acid as this can help prevent birth defects. Though scientists are unsure why, this may be linked to folic acid’s role in the synthesis of DNA.
- PABA, Inositol & Choline Citrate: Vitazan Professional Special B-complex includes PABA, Inositol and Choline Citrate. Choline Citrate and Inositol, are vitamin-like substances that participate in metabolizing fat. Choline citrate helps your body more fully assimilate the other B-vitamins. PABA is an acronym for para-aminobenzoic acid, a component of folic acid added for maximum utilization of folic acid.
The Whole Picture
If you have come this far then you must have realized that the b-vitamins are intimately linked with each other. They cannot be viewed on their own, they operate synergistically. As a whole the B vitamins can enhance DNA methylation, a process that declines during aging, inhibit glycosylation (a proposed cause of aging), suppress apolipoprotein serum levels (a factor in atherosclerosis), suppress oxidative stress, protect against thrombosis (blood clots in arteries and vessels), and maintain micro-capillary circulation. Though often isolated into separate items vitamins are in fact complexes, and the b-complex must be understood as a whole. To take any single b is to take only a single link in a chain. IT is only when combined, and when combined in the right forms and quantities that the B vitamins can bear their full effects. Of course your health professional is in the best position to know whether or not your case requires supplementation of a good B-complex. Typically, people who are exposed to stressful situations, or who have a poor dietary intake, should supplement with a B-Complex. You can trust that Vitazan Professional Special B-complex is an effective supplement, carefully designed for optimal supplementation and appropriate forms of b vitamins.
